Hana Brady is best known for her famous suitcase. Born in May 1931, Hana lived in Nove Mesto with her parents and older brother. She had a happy childhood until the Nazi rule drastically changed her life. She, along with her older brother, was deported to Terezin in 1942. She was sent to Auschwitz in October of 1944, where she was killed upon arrival. Though Hana's life ended long ago, her story is still being told because of Fumiko Ishioka's work. Ishioka is the director of the Tokyo Holocaust Education Resource Center. When she received the suitcase to display, she became curious about the girl who owned it and went on a search for answers.
